1. Black nail polish (I used Wet n' Wild shade 880-Black Heart that cost $2.99 at Walgreens)
2. Red nail polish (I used Sinful Expressions shade 369-Ruby Ruby that cost me $0.99)
3. A set of fake, glue on nails (I used Kiss Everlasting French Petite nails that were about $7)
Time:
About 15 minutes, give or take.
Steps:
1. Clip your nails a little and use a nail file to trim them down so that your real nail is not visible underneath the fake one.
2. Take the fake nails and determine which ones fit your real nails best and set them aside.
3. Using your red nail polish, paint the underside of the fake nail. Make sure to cover the top part thoroughly, as that will be the part visible.
4. Let the red dry, and then apply two coats of the black nail polish to the front of the fake nails.
5. After both the red and the black polish has dried, apply the fake nails to your real ones. Avoid using too much glue, because if you do it will squeeze out at the top of your nail when you push the fake nails down and will ruin the effect of the red polish.
6. Apply a top coat over your nails.
Tips:
Break off the white tabs before you paint the nails. I didn't, and when I broke them off there were white spots where the tabs had been.
